Fred Kane, President is the father of 2 Army Infantry Captains.  One has left the service, and the other is in the Army Reserve, so for now there is less to worry about.  A former restaurant developer/operator and real estate broker, he also consults for restaurant companies.

Dave Ognek, Treasurer is a former Marine, having served in combat in Viet Nam.  Dave is a financial planner and mortgage broker, when he is not hunting, shooting or engaged in political causes, he plays golf.

Ron Breznicky works for Ecolab as a Pool & Spa Chemical District Manager.  When he is not keeping you safe in that hotel pool or jacuzzi, he plays golf and enjoys cigars.  Ron has his hands full every year managing our volunteers.

Doug Pounder our Secretary, retired after some 30+ years with the Royal Bank of Canada.  When not trying to make sense of our meeting minutes, he plays golf, watches something we call Soccer (loves Manchester United) and travels.  Doug is a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Chicora.

Edward L. Kane jr. is a retired Army Captain and served with the 101st Airborne.  He is currently a Sales manager with Hydrite Chemical.  When not calling his brother Fred a “Leg” (not airborne qualified) Ed hikes, plays golf and does a lot for his church community.  Ed comes through every year for us with his industry contacts and friends to help with the tournament.

Mike Marino is our Sponsorship Chairman.  After a career in telecom, Mike and his wife Diane relocated to Pawleys Island.  Mike recently served as president of The Reserve Club and guided the club through its acquisition by McConnell Golf.  He consults on business issues and outplacement with Navigate, Inc.  His wife Diane is a partner in Young Veterinary Clinic.  Mike enjoys golf  and contributing his time and talent to charitable organizations.

Eric Breznicky is a District Manager for Ecolab in North Carolina.  He too, enjoys golf, cigars and something called the Red Sox.  Eric is our action guy on tournament morning, he does all the heavy lifting and running around setting up the course and tee boxes.  He is young, has a good back and strong legs.

Dorien Morin Van Dam is our Social Media Manager.  I honestly don’t know how she runs a household with 5 young children, a business, serves on her PTA, runs mini-marathons, a local networking group and…manages to do such a great job for us through her knowledge, enthusiasm and patience!

Bill Ruhle spent six years in the Army National Guard, and now wants to help support those who have made much greater sacrifices for their country.  He is our Marketing Manager.  Bill spent 35 years in various technology management roles for major New York companies.  He joined our Board last year and has been an asset right from the start.  When not working with us, he’s enjoying the ocean, golfing, reading, gardening, visiting family and friends, sampling the local cuisine, and trying to stay in shape.

Members at Large:

Sean Kane served as a platoon leader with the 2-22, 1 BCT of 10th Mtn. Div. in Iraq and Afghanistan.  He led more than 400 combat patrols, logged over 25 air assaults and just recently left the Army having attained the rank of Captain.  He currently works in Logistics for Pitney Bowes in CT, and resides in NY.

Michael Kane served as a platoon leader with 1-68 Combined Arms of 3BCT, 4th ID.  Mike’s area of responsibility was the Sadr City slum in Baghdad where he led some 300 patrols to maintain security in the area.  Upon leaving active duty with the Army, he returned home, went to work for the VA and is now employed with Safeway Corp.  He is currently a Captain in the Army Reserve.
